5 Must Visit Wine Bars

Charlotte’s wine scene is getting better and better each year! February feels like the perfect time to slow down and enjoy a glass after the Dry Jan Craze. From cozy neighborhood spots to thoughtfully curated wine bars, here are my go-to 5 spots in the city. Whether you’re into natural wines, bold reds, or something sparkling, these local gems are bringing personality, passion, and a whole lot of good pours to the table. Here’s where to sip this month in Charlotte.

 1. Substrate

Address: 512 E 15th St. in Noda

IG: @substrateclt

My new favorite wine bar in Charlotte because of the natural and conventional wine selection, vermouths and amaros. The cozy atmosphere is unpretentious, inviting, and laid back. This is a must-visit wine bar whether you dabble in vino or are a seasoned connoisseur.

2. Frenchy's Sip and Shop

Address: 200 W Tremont Ave. #103 in South End

IG: @frenchysclt

Natural wines and craft beers, Frenchy’s is a recently new and very popular addition to the South End neighborhood. They work with smaller, independently owned businesses and offer wines, ciders, sakes and everything else in between!

3. Dilworth Tasting Room

Neighborhood: Plaza Midwood, SouthPark and Dilworth

IG: @dilworth_tasting_room

DTR is not just a wine bar, but now known in Charlotte for their culinary program. This is the perfect spot to enjoy Mediterranean inspired small plates, craft cocktails and exciting wine options. A favorite for date night or girls night out.

4. Barcelona Wine Bar

Address: 101 W Worthington Ave Ste 110

IG: @barcelonawinebar

Barcelona is a staple in the heart of South End because it is one place you can go that always seems to be buzzin! Spanish wine, tapas, and the U shape bar make it into a local fav for meeting friends, date night or where to celebrate your birthday!

5. Rosie’s Coffee & Wine Garden

Address: 940 N Davidson St.

IG: @rosiescoffeeandwine

My personal little getaway when I need to escape the city life. In this spring and summer, the McGill Rose Garden comes to life with beautiful plants and flowers. Rosie’s offers coffee and unique wines to sip on while enjoying the relaxing vibes of Mother Nature herself.
